This effort is launching a new era of cooperation between the Swiss watchmakers and Silicon Valley, combining the experience of each company to build luxury watches, software and hardware, respectively.

The partnership was officially announced at Baselworld Watch and Jewellery Show, during a press conference, on Thursday March 19, at the stand of TAG Heuer. "The Swiss watch industry and Silicon Valley is a blend between technological innovation and reliability. Our cooperation extends to a wide range of partnership, beneficial for both parties, and the prospect for our three companies are enormous," said Jean-Claude Biver.

Guy Sémon, General Manager of TAG Heuer added: "When the worldwide famous quality of Swiss watches meets an ally of creative technology and global power of companies such as Intel and Google, we could predict the beginning of a technological revolution in our industry, of which I am proud to be one of the pioneers, on behalf of TAG Heuer."

David Singleton noted: "With the merging of beauty and technology, Swiss watches has inspired generations of artists and engineers, including us, Google. We are excited to work together with  TAG Heuer and Intel, to offer a new mixture of emotion and innovation in the luxury market. Together, utilizing the Android Wear, we can envision a better, beautiful, smarter watch."

"We are working on the creation of technology experience, with larger denominator practicality and value to the public, and Intel is convinced that a collective approach will be the inspiration for a new innovation in wearable technology. The partnership with TAG Heuer and Google brings us closer to realizing this vision for technology wearable, via a separate smartwatch, which upgrades the category to which it belongs," noted Michael Bell.
